My father's chief attorney, Mr. Miller, stepped forward.
He opened a thick crimson folder under rain.
"Adrian Hawthorne, you are served an emergency eviction."

"Eviction? I own this entire mansion property!"
My father let out a cold, chilling, quiet laugh.
"You owned nothing, Adrian," my father stated firmly.
"Vale Corporation purchased this estate five years ago."
"We allowed you to live here on lease."
"A lease conditional on your faithful marriage to Claire."
Vanessa let out a sharp shriek of terror.
