Chapter 8 - The Glass With the Ribbon

I did not drink from the marked glass.

I did not let anyone else drink from it either.

Rosa photographed it, sealed it inside an evidence container, and replaced it with plain sparkling water.

Then we positioned the replacement exactly where Margaret had left the original.

Minutes later, Margaret returned.

She checked the white ribbon.

Satisfied, she walked to Sienna.

“The glass is ready,” she whispered.

Sienna did not turn.

“And if she refuses?”

“Landon will make her toast.”

My phone captured every word.

That was when I understood how completely Landon had betrayed me.

He was not a weak man trapped by a manipulative woman.

He had agreed to place the glass in my hand.

The quartet began the processional.

Guests rose.

Sienna walked down the aisle with a triumphant smile, wearing the gown I had once helped her choose for a foundation photoshoot.

Landon watched her as though the estate already belonged to them.

The officiant welcomed everyone.

He spoke about second chances.

He spoke about courage.

He spoke about two people who had overcome cruelty and interference to stand together.

Cruelty.

That was how they had described me.

Sienna’s guests believed I was an unstable former wife who had refused to accept the end of my marriage.

Some had been told I had threatened her.

Others believed I had abandoned Landon during a family crisis.

They had rewritten the story before I could enter it.

Then Landon began his vows.

“Sienna, you showed me what it means to live without fear—”

I stepped onto the gravel aisle.

The first person to see me was Margaret.

The tray shook in her hands.

Then Landon saw me.

His vow died in his throat.

Sienna’s smile remained for half a second longer.

Then she noticed my phone.

The guests turned one by one.

I walked forward slowly.

No screaming.

No tears.

No scene they could call unstable.

Only my heels against the gravel.

Click.

Click.

Click.

When I stopped beneath the arch, Sienna tightened her grip on the bouquet.

Landon moved protectively in front of her.

I looked directly at the pearls.

“Take them off.”

He stepped toward me.

That was when I raised the phone and began recording visibly.

“Take off her pearls.”

The garden fell silent.

And the trap they had built for me began closing around them instead.

👉 Landon still believed the confrontation was only about an affair, but Maya’s next question would force Sienna to explain the missing $2.4 million in front of every guest.
