Chapter 13 - THE KITCHEN VIDEO
The jury watched Marcus punch me in the ribs.
They watched the apples roll.
They watched Claire, dressed as Rachel, demand three million dollars.
They watched Marcus drag me to my knees.
The forged papers hit the floor.
My refusal.
My smile.
Then his eyes following mine toward the camera.
“Wait... is the camera recording?”
The entire conspiracy changed in that moment.
His confidence disappeared because he knew exactly what the video would connect.
The prosecution showed the account records, the replacement plans, Anna’s marriage, Lily’s birth, the elder-care scheme, and the fake power of attorney.
Claire testified.

No perfect witnesses.
The evidence connected.
Marcus claimed he was raised inside a system where identity and money were inseparable.
True.
He also chose violence.

Robert faced civil and criminal penalties for identity fraud.
Doctors and lawyers involved in the elder schemes lost licenses and faced prosecution.
The three million dollars was distributed among victims.
Anna and Lily received independent restitution.
Then Marcus stood before sentencing.
He looked at me and said:
“You still don’t know who installed the camera.”
I thought Arthur—or Robert—had.
Robert shook his head.
