Chapter 15 - The Paper He Tried to Destroy

Adam waited until Dakota moved toward the galley.

Then he slid the printed itinerary from beneath his thigh.

He tore it once.

Trinity saw him.

“What are you doing?”

He folded the pieces into his fist.

“Nothing.”

Dakota turned immediately.

“Open your hand.”

Adam laughed.

“You are a flight attendant, not law enforcement.”

“No. But destruction of property during an active corporate investigation can be documented.”

“You have no proof this paper matters.”

Trinity stood across the aisle.

“I saw the bank address.”

Adam looked at her with open hatred.

“You should be careful.”

The threat was quiet.

That made it worse.

Dakota stepped between them.

“Do not threaten her.”

Adam’s smile returned.

“I was giving advice.”

The purser approached with another crew member.

“Sir, hand over the torn paper or it will be treated as a cabin-security concern.”

Adam stared at the three women surrounding him.

Then he opened his fist.

The pieces were damp with sweat.

Dakota placed them inside an airsickness bag without touching the print.

Trinity began to shake.

“He has another copy.”

Adam looked at her sharply.

“Where?”

“In his laptop bag.”

The bag was stored overhead.

Adam immediately unbuckled.

The seat-belt sign illuminated with a chime as the aircraft entered turbulence.

“Remain seated,” the purser ordered.

Adam ignored her and reached upward.

The aircraft jolted.

He lost his balance and caught the seatback.

Dakota stepped away, refusing to touch him.

Two nearby passengers recoiled.

The purser’s voice became firm.

“Sit down now.”

Adam slowly lowered himself into the seat.

The laptop bag remained overhead.

He looked toward it with naked panic.

👉 When the crew secured the bag, they heard a phone ringing inside—one Adam had never declared.
