Braddock frequently assigned recovering soldiers to inventory rooms after normal duty hours.
He claimed the work was light.
No running.
No heavy lifting.
No field training.
In reality, their presence created legitimate access records.
Braddock entered restricted storage areas using their names on temporary assignment sheets.
He moved equipment into containers labeled as medical rehabilitation supplies.
Few guards inspected those shipments closely.
Ava had been assigned to the warehouse twice.
During the second shift, she noticed a communications case listed as damaged.
The case looked new.
Its serial number had been partially removed.
She photographed it.
The following morning, the case disappeared from the official inventory.
That was when she began asking questions.
Braddock attempted to transfer her to another installation.
Medical command rejected the request.
He then wrote negative performance reports.
Ava appealed them successfully.
Every failed effort increased his anger.
The extinguisher attack was his most public attempt to break her.
It became his greatest mistake.
The investigation team searched the warehouse.
Behind stacked rehabilitation equipment, they found a false wall panel.
Inside were empty cases, copied shipping forms, cash, and a handwritten schedule.
Several dates matched Braddock’s late-night assignments.
One future date was circled.

A shipment was planned to leave Fort Hartwell after midnight.
The equipment had not yet departed.
Daniel ordered the investigation team to proceed without alerting anyone outside the secured command group.
Braddock heard only fragments.
