Chapter 10 - ROBERT’S GLASS

Robert’s thrown glass bothered me in a different way after the footage.
He had watched Sophie be taken into the bathroom.
Then when I returned with her bruised and crying, he did not ask what happened.
He threw a glass.
Why?
His attorney said reflex.
Protecting Linda.
Protecting Bethany.
Maybe.
Then garden camera audio was recovered from a secondary microphone near the patio.
The original clip suddenly had sound.
Linda:
“How dare you hit your own sister!”
Me:
“Touch my daughter again, and you’re done.”
Then glass breaking.
Before the throw, Robert said something quieter.
“Get him away from the house.”
Not:
Stop fighting.
Not:
Someone help Sophie.
Get him away.
His priority was access.
Then after I moved Sophie behind me, Linda whispered:
“The office.”
Robert looked toward the hallway.
The trust paperwork was still inside.
That was what they feared.
Then investigators recovered another garden clip.
Five minutes after I left for the pediatric clinic, Robert entered his office.
He emerged carrying a portable hard drive.
He gave it to Marcus Reed, the CFO.
Marcus immediately called police later and surrendered it.
That surprised Robert’s lawyers.
Marcus explained:
“Robert told me to destroy the project files.”
“Did you?”
“No.”
“Why not?”
“Because a child had just left with bruises.”
The hard drive contained Parker Development financing records.
Including a folder titled:
SOPHIE OPTION.
My stomach turned.
The folder contained financial scenarios.
Not abuse plans.
Numbers.
$1.6M trust investment.
$2.2M second-stage facility.
Potential share collateral.
Projected covenant cure.
Then:
Guardianship improves execution reliability.
An entire line on a spreadsheet reduced control of my daughter to execution reliability.
Robert had created the file.
Metadata confirmed it.
That was the major payoff.
My father had not merely allowed Linda and Bethany’s scheme.
He had modeled it financially.
Then came the twist.
The earliest version had a line:
Daniel consent required.
Later version:
Daniel consent risk — HIGH.
Final version:
Alternate authority route.
The plan changed because they knew I would say no.
Then Robert’s attorneys asked for a meeting.
He wanted to separate his company exposure from Linda and Bethany’s conduct toward Sophie.
He claimed he did not know they would hurt her.
The video showed him standing lookout while they gripped her.
But perhaps he did not know what happened inside the bathroom.
That distinction would matter.
Responsibility did not need to be identical.
Then he offered one thing.
The password to an encrypted Parker Development archive.
He said it would show who created the forged signature package.
My father was beginning to protect himself.

And the first person he was willing to sacrifice was my sister.
📖 Robert’s hard drive proved he financially engineered the trust plan, but his encrypted archive threatened to show whether Bethany or Linda actually forged my signature. 👇
