Chapter 12 - NATHAN’S FORGED SIGNATURE

The loan documents were professionally prepared.
Nathan’s signature looked real.
His initials appeared on every page.
A notary certified his identity.
The lender had no obvious reason to suspect fraud.
Rebecca did.
She compared the signing date with Nathan’s travel records.
He had been in Tokyo.
The notarization claimed Manhattan.
Another impossible location.
Daniel Hayes had notarized the documents.
Again.
The pattern was no longer subtle.
Daniel created paperwork.
Victoria supplied signatures or access.
Other people trusted the appearance of legitimacy.
Nathan’s signature source came from an authentic shareholder agreement stored in his home office.
Victoria’s microphones were not the only intrusion.
Digital access logs showed she had scanned documents after midnight using Nathan’s printer.
The lender transferred twelve million dollars to Hayes Capital Partners.
Daniel’s investment entity.
Most of it then flowed into repayment of Victoria’s personal debts and her father’s failing real estate projects.
The remaining two million financed something called Project Harbor.
No explanation.
“Another shell?” Nathan asked.
Evan Lawson, Rebecca’s forensic accountant, shook his head.
“Not yet.”
Project Harbor paid for storage units, relocation consultants, and identity-management services.
My stomach tightened.
“Relocation for whom?”
One invoice referenced a woman and minor child.
No names.
The date was six months earlier.
Before I entered Nathan’s home.
Rebecca looked at me.
“They may have been preparing to move you.”
“Without asking?”
“We don’t know the method.”
Then a second invoice surfaced.
Private school research in Arizona.
Housing search in Phoenix.
Cash budget.
New employment placement.
Victoria had been planning an entire life for Lily and me across the country.
Nathan was furious.
“She was going to bribe Grace?”
Maybe.
That was the assumption.
Then Charles found an email making it uglier.
Daniel to Victoria:
If GM refuses voluntary relocation, custody leverage remains available.
Custody leverage.
My hands went cold.
“What does that mean?”
No one wanted to answer.
Rebecca searched the rest of the drive.
A private investigator had collected photographs of me drinking wine at a restaurant.
One glass.
Another image showed me leaving Lily with my mother for a weekend.
Ordinary life reframed as evidence.
A report listed every late daycare pickup.
Every parking ticket.
One pediatric urgent-care visit.
They were building a file suggesting I was unstable.
If I refused to disappear, they intended to threaten my custody of Lily.
Information twist.
Project Harbor was not escape planning for Victoria.
It was a coercion package for me.
Then one document pushed the story further.
A draft custody petition.
Petitioner left blank.
But the factual section claimed Lily’s biological father was “an unidentified financially capable individual.”
Victoria knew Nathan was that individual.
She planned to hide his identity from the court while using Lily’s paternity uncertainty against me.
Nathan read the draft twice.
“She was prepared to weaponize my daughter while keeping me legally invisible.”
Yes.

And the person drafting it was Daniel Hayes.
📖 Project Harbor revealed Victoria planned to force Grace and Lily out of New York using fabricated custody concerns while keeping Nathan’s true paternity hidden. 👇
