Chapter 10 - The Unmarked Delivery

I walked down the wooden porch steps toward the driver.
I signed the digital pad, taking the small brown box.
"Thank you," I said, inspecting the white shipping label.
The cardboard package had zero return address listed anywhere today.
I walked back to the wooden porch table carefully now.
I pulled open the brown sealing tape with my fingers.
Inside the cardboard box lay a sleek silver encrypted drive.
Beside the drive rested a single old color photograph document.
I picked up the photograph with careful, trembling fingers fast.
The image showed an old medical research facility building compound.
Standing in front of the building was a tall man.
A man wearing an immaculate, expensive dark tailored silk suit.
He held a newborn baby girl in his warm arms.
My blood ran completely ice cold in a single second.
The man in the photo was my biological father.
The father I believed died twenty years ago in crash.
My biological father hadn't died of illness back then.
