Elise Carter was not Thomas’s business partner.
She was his girlfriend.

Potential buyers.
They planned to claim I had abandoned the marital home.

He needed a few days.
Enough time to remove documents.
Transfer funds.
Pressure me into signing a settlement.
He believed confusion would create leverage.
Elise also knew about Marta’s money.
She wrote:
Your mom will keep quiet if she thinks Sophie took it.
Thomas answered:
She always needs someone else to blame.
Marta read the message.
Her lips trembled.
