Chapter 13 - THE SLOAN SISTERS

Rachel Sloan admitted removing the cap.

Margaret threatened her daughter.

Rachel believed she could replace the cap with a verified sample and protect both case and child.

The duplicate sample was chemically accurate.

The evidence chain was not.

A well-intentioned substitution could still destroy admissibility.

Rebecca was furious.

Rachel surrendered the original cap from a private safe.

The court allowed it after full disclosure and corroborating lab records.

The case survived because truth was documented, not hidden.

Rachel faced charges for evidence interference but received consideration for cooperation.

Her daughter was found safe.

Margaret’s agents had never held her.

They used a staged photograph.

Fear alone controlled Rachel.

Then the Project Mirror Desk footage went online.

A fake Emma placed a syringe on a fake counter.

A fake Olivia collapsed.

A fake Officer Reed locked the doors.

A fake Michael pounded outside.

Commentators claimed the original had been filmed too.

Emma saw one clip accidentally.

She said, “That’s not me.”

“How do you know?” Olivia asked.

“I held you with my left arm.”

The actor used the right.

Children remembered body truth.

Forensic analysts found dozens of inconsistencies.

The fake spread anyway.

Some people preferred confusion.

Courts did not.

Metadata, original dispatch calls, ambulance records, pharmacy searches, rain sensors, and independent witnesses aligned.

Reality survived through corroboration.

The warehouse director was arrested.

He had another current script.

PROJECT HOSPITAL WINDOW.

Next phase: stage Olivia’s death and blame Emma.

The network wanted to turn sisters against each other publicly.

Security around the girls increased.

But the greater protection came from transparency.

Emma and Olivia were told enough to recognize manipulation.

Emma said, “If someone says Liv is dead, I call three people.”

Olivia said, “If someone says Emma hurt me, I tell the truth.”

No single adult controlled the response.

Then Margaret offered the location of every remaining child in exchange for house arrest.

Prosecutors refused.

She released half the locations.

Children were recovered.

She withheld the rest.

The court sentenced her without a deal.

The hidden children remained priority.

David Reed recognized a code in her files.

The final facility sat beneath the old police academy where both Reed brothers trained.

The network had hidden children beneath law enforcement for years.

Federal agents entered.

They found no children.

Only identity records.

Every subject had been moved into ordinary schools and foster homes under false names.

The final phase was not captivity.

It was invisibility.

One file belonged to Officer Reed’s daughter Rose.

Another to Emma.

Another to Olivia.

Their current records had been altered again.

According to the system, none of the girls legally existed.
