Police moved quickly.
Rose was at Daniel’s home with a court-approved caregiver.
A woman posing as a pediatric home nurse had already arrived.
Her credentials were valid.
Her identity was not.
She was Dr. Vale’s identical twin sister, Evelyn Vale.
The public doctor in custody was Samuel Vale.
Evelyn ran home operations under his name.
She carried a silver case containing oral syringes.
Officers arrested her before she reached Rose.
Rose saw the commotion and asked Daniel whether she was sick.
He said, “No. Someone tried to give you medicine you did not need.”
Age-appropriate truth.
Emma and Rose’s genetic match confirmed they were twins.
The court arranged a gradual meeting.
No cameras.
No family press conference.
Emma brought a drawing.
Rose brought a stuffed rabbit.
They looked at each other and laughed because their front teeth were missing in the same place.
For one minute, the case disappeared.
Then Rose asked why Emma wore old sneakers.
Emma said, “We ran in rain.”
Rose asked where.
“To the police.”
Daniel stepped away to hide tears.
Healing and guilt occupied the same room.

Medical guardianships.
Dozens of cases emerged.
Then Michael requested to testify.
He admitted dosing Olivia.
He admitted harvesting Emma’s cells.
He admitted knowing Lily lived.
He claimed he did it to prevent Lily’s death and preserve all three girls.
The prosecutor asked why Olivia’s file included TERMINATE IF NONRESPONDER.
Michael said nothing.
That silence destroyed his protective-father defense.
Then Lily asked to see him.
Her advocate approved one supervised meeting.
Michael looked at the child he saved through crimes against the others.
“I did everything for you.”
Lily answered, “I didn’t ask.”
Four words.
The entire program collapsed inside them.
Then Emma’s pharmacy code produced another record.
The prescription had been filled seven times.
Only four doses appeared in Olivia’s blood.
Three had gone somewhere else.
One to Lily.
One to Rose.
The final dose was administered to an adult.
Officer Daniel Reed.
His recent bloodwork showed the same sedative.
Someone had been altering the officer’s memory.
