My father had created a trust for future grandchildren.
Sophie automatically became beneficiary at birth.
That sounded harmless.
Then the audit found an amendment.
Custodial controller until age twenty-five:
Vanessa Carter.
The amendment was dated two weeks after our wedding.
My signature appeared.
I had not signed it.
Vanessa admitted submitting it.
Thomas prepared it.
