Chapter 11 - THE HIDDEN CAMERA
Louis pointed toward the guests.
“You’re humiliating me in front of everyone.”
Ernest’s expression barely changed.
“You invited them.”
Carla quickly checked her phone.
The recording had stopped when her account froze.
She tried to delete the earlier footage.
Samuel spoke without looking at her.
“Do not alter that file.”
She froze.
“What?”
“The dining room camera captured the entire event.”
Louis looked toward the framed photographs.
He had never noticed the small lens installed above Margaret’s anniversary portrait.
Ernest had placed it there after learning about the assisted-living plan.
The camera recorded the dog bowl.
The insults.
Louis claiming control of the house.
Carla recording the humiliation.
It also recorded several earlier conversations when they believed Ernest was asleep upstairs.
