Chapter 3 - RACHEL

Rachel did not die.
She was taken from the hospital three hours after our birth.
Richard told Linda the second baby had severe defects and did not survive.
Thomas believed him until years later.
The transfer form placed Rachel inside a private children’s residence funded by Miller Construction.
Why would a construction company fund a medical facility?
Because the residence housed children used as hidden legal heirs.
Families placed assets under children’s names to avoid taxes, creditors, and criminal seizure.
Rachel became the beneficiary of one branch.
Vanessa managed another.
I was raised publicly as Richard’s legitimate daughter because Linda’s inheritance required a child living in the home.
Three daughters.
Three financial roles.
Not one family.
Detective Hayes traced Rachel’s last known record to a boarding school in Vermont.
She left at eighteen under the name Rachel Reed.
Current address unknown.
Vanessa had contacted her repeatedly.
The hidden sisters knew each other.
They knew about me.
I knew nothing.
Then Hayes recovered the secure folder I had uploaded.
Along with the garage video, my phone automatically sent months of copied bank statements and audio recordings.
One file captured Richard telling Vanessa:
“Rachel gets the company. You get the house. Rebecca gets the blame.”
Blame for what?
A forged loan scheme worth forty million dollars.
Richard used my electronic signature to approve transfers through Miller Properties.
If exposed, I would appear responsible.
The punch in the garage was not only rage.
He needed my phone because it contained proof.
Then Linda admitted something.
She had seen Rachel once.
At age seven.
A girl stood across the street from our house holding Thomas’s hand.
Linda thought grief made her imagine the resemblance.
Thomas had tried to return Rachel.
Richard threatened to kill both girls.
Thomas disappeared again.
Linda never told me.
Fear became another family secret.
Then my phone received a message from Rachel.
I SAW THE VIDEO.
DO NOT TRUST THOMAS.
