Chapter 8 - The Hand Reaching For The Evidence

The movement was quick.
But not quick enough.
The bailiff stopped the person before the evidence disappeared.
Everyone stood.
The judge demanded answers.
The person was connected to one of the wealthy families.
A private investigator.
Hired to control information.
The room became silent.
Because now the truth was undeniable.
Someone was afraid.
The judge ordered the evidence secured.
Then looked at the wealthy fathers.
“This courtroom will not be controlled by money.”
For the first time, they looked powerless.
But I knew something.
People like them don’t surrender easily.
They adapt.
They attack differently.
Then my phone vibrated.
A message.
Unknown sender.
One sentence.
“Ask your son what he remembers about the locked room.”
I looked at Cameron.
