Chapter 9 - The Memory Cameron Buried

I took Cameron outside the courtroom briefly.
Not away from the truth.
Away from the pressure.
“Cameron.”
He looked at me.
“There’s something you didn’t tell me.”
His eyes filled.
“I was scared.”
I understood.
Fear makes people hide things.
Even from those trying to protect them.
He told me there was another person involved.
Someone older.
Someone who opened the locked room.
My stomach tightened.
Because that changed everything.

Someone had created an environment where they believed they were untouchable.
When we returned, the judge was waiting.
I gave him the information.
And the courtroom changed again.
Because now there was a bigger question.
