Chapter 13 - The Passenger Nobody Wanted Seen

The window lowered slightly.
Not enough.
Just enough to create fear.
My mother whispered:
“No.”
I looked at her.
“Who?”
She shook her head.
“You don’t understand.”
I almost laughed.
“No.”
I looked around.
“I’m the only person here who doesn’t understand.”
Dana stepped closer.
The sergeant watched the vehicle.
Tyler stood frozen.
For once, nobody knew what to do.
Then the sedan engine started.
The car did not leave.
It only moved slightly forward.
A warning.
The passenger wanted us to know they could.
My phone vibrated again.
One final message.
