Chapter 10 - Noah’s Final Message

The first line was handwritten.
Not official.
Not military.
Personal.
My hands shook.
Because I recognized the writing.
Noah.
The message wasn’t long.
It didn’t need to be.
He wrote about Atlas.
About trust.
About fear.
About what happens when people decide an animal is broken simply because they don’t understand the pain behind the behavior.
I looked at Atlas.
And understood.
He wasn’t dangerous.
He was grieving.
Colonel Willis watched my face.
“What does it say?”
I folded the page.
“Enough.”
That frustrated him.
But he respected it.
Then the woman received a call.
Her expression changed.
“What?”
She listened.
Then looked at Atlas.
“The people who wanted him terminated know the order was stopped.”
The room became tense.
Someone wanted Atlas gone.

And now they knew we had stopped them.
