Chapter 15 - The Command Noah Left For Me

I opened the final document.

This time, I was ready.

Not because I wasn’t afraid.

Because I finally understood.

The truth had never been hidden because it was dangerous.

It was hidden because people were not ready to accept it.

The document contained Noah’s final instructions.

Not about a mission.

Not about an operation.

About Atlas.

About trust.

About loyalty.

About the one person he believed would never abandon him.

Me.

I looked through the kennel mesh.

Atlas stared back.

The same eyes.

The same loyalty.

The same pain.

But different now.

Because he was no longer waiting to die.

He was waiting to go home.

Colonel Willis stood silently.

Dr. Porter wiped away tears.

Even the official lowered his voice.

“You understand now.”

I nodded.

“Yes.”

The final page contained one handwritten sentence.

No military seal.

No official signature.

Just Noah’s words.

The reason he trusted me.

The reason Atlas remembered.

The reason everyone had been wrong.

It read:

“Margaret, if they ever decide Atlas is broken, remind them he was the only one who never forgot who came back for him.”
