The investigation changed immediately.
Atlas was no longer just a dog.

Colonel Willis looked angry.

“He knew.”

She continued.

Atlas looked toward the hallway.
Again.
Another alert.
This time security confirmed someone had entered restricted records.
Colonel Willis turned to me.
“Mrs. Mercer.”
“Yes?”
“You may be the only person who knows what they are looking for.”
I looked at Atlas.
