Chapter 4 - The Sabotaged Formula
The video feed played with crystal-clear digital audio.
The camera timestamp showed two o'clock last night.
The camera lens pointed down at the nursery.
On screen, the nursery door opened very slowly.
A figure crept into the dark infant room.
It was my mother Teresa wearing silk pajamas.
She walked silently over to the baby table.
She pulled a small glass dropper bottle out.
She carefully unscrewed the baby formula container lid.
She dripped ten drops of clear liquid inside.
She stirred the formula powder with a spoon.
Then she turned toward the hidden camera lens.
Her face wore a cold, calculating, evil expression.
Audio from the phone speaker played through hallway:
"A few drops of sedative will keep him sick."
Teresa's voice recorded on tape clearly stated.
"Amy will look like a neglectful, unfit mother."
"Social services will declare her mentally unstable tomorrow."
"And my son will finally divorce that nobody."
The horrific words echoed across the silent house.
Amy let out a strangled gasp of horror.
She covered her mouth with both trembling hands.
"You... you poisoned my baby?" Amy shrieked.
"You made my son sick on purpose?"
The family guests stepped three steps away Teresa.
They looked at her with pure disgust and horror.
Uncle Richard backed away toward the front closet.
He realized he was standing beside a criminal.
Teresa thrashed her arms wildly in sheer panic.
"That video is a fake!" Teresa lied frantically.
"Connor fabricated that video using artificial intelligence!"
"I was only putting baby vitamins in formula!"
I looked at Teresa with cold, unyielding hatred.
"Vitamins don't cause a hundred and two fever."
"Vitamins don't make a baby vomit all morning."
I tapped my phone screen to dial three numbers.
I brought the phone up to my ear.
"Nine one one, dispatch an emergency ambulance here."
"My one-year-old son has been poisoned with sedatives."
