Chapter 6 - The Unseen Footage
The video playback showed every single second clearly.
Kate dragged little Lily toward the open bathroom.
Lily was crying, trying to pull away frantically.
"Please, Mommy Kate, I don't want bath!"
Kate's voice recorded on camera audio echoed softly:
"Shut up, you brat! Your father is leaving!"
"And you are going to make me rich!"
Kate forced Lily into the steaming bathroom space.
She slammed the bathroom door shut from outside.
She slid a heavy wooden chair under handle.
She locked my daughter inside with scalding water.
Lily's muffled, screaming cries echoed through audio speaker.
Kate stood in the hallway checking her watch.
She waited three full minutes while Lily suffered.
Then she pulled out a hammer from coat.
She smashed the hallway security sensor unit hard.
She poured bath oil over her own dress.
She tousled her hair to look like victim.
Then she dialed 911 on her phone.
"Help! My husband is scalding my stepdaughter!"
The video clip ended as police sirens wailed.
Silence fell over the dark attic space completely.
Sarah collapsed onto her knees, sobbing violently now.
"That evil bitch... she locked her inside..."
Miller's face was carved from dark, lethal stone.
"This is crystal-clear proof of premeditated torture."
"This video completely exonerates you, Daniel."
"And it proves Officer Davis lied on report."
On the video, Officer Davis arrived five minutes.
He didn't check the bathroom lock or boiler.
He helped Kate wipe down the chair handle.
He was her active co-conspirator in crime.
"Davis is in on the trust money," I.
"He gets a cut of the five million."
"That's why he arrested me without questioning."
Miller closed the laptop, securing the memory drive.
"We take this straight to the State Prosecutor."
"No local cop can bury this evidence now."
Suddenly, my phone chimed with a high-priority text.
An urgent message from a nurse at hospital:
"Kate just presented a signed emergency judge order."
"She is transferring Lily to a private airstrip now!"
"They are taking her out of the state!"
My heart plummeted into a deep, dark abyss.
