Chapter 30 - The Envelope in the Drawer
Three years later, Claire kept the empty white envelope inside a desk drawer.
The documents were stored elsewhere.
The envelope itself held no legal value.
She kept it because it reminded her of the moment she stopped waiting for Michael to choose honesty.
Ethan played on the floor beside her desk.
He had Michael’s brown eyes.
For a long time, that resemblance hurt.
