Chapter 17 - Rebecca Chooses
Rebecca confronted her father at the Whitmore estate.
Charles asked her to delay speaking publicly until the contract vote.
She refused.
“You taught me that our name meant responsibility.”
“It does.”
“No. You taught me it meant protection from consequences.”
Charles warned that the company board could remove her.
Rebecca served as operations director and was expected to inherit the business.
She submitted her resignation that afternoon.
Then she gave police every internal email concerning Dale and the gravel yard.
One message proved Charles ordered security footage deleted after learning Dale had used company property.
He had not participated in the breeding operation.
But he had obstructed its discovery.
Rebecca knew her testimony might send her father to prison.
She gave it anyway.
Grace had trusted Rebecca.
