Chapter 10 - Father Against Husband

Trevor pointed the gun at Richard.

“Move.”

Richard did not.

Behind Trevor, officers emerged from the cabin.

“You have nowhere to go,” Richard said.

“You destroyed my marriage.”

“No. You did.”

Trevor grabbed Richard by the jacket and pressed the gun beneath his chin.

Rebecca stepped outside holding Emma.

“Trevor.”

He looked at her.

She saw the confusion in his face.

For years, he had believed fear gave him control.

Now everyone was watching.

No closed doors.

No private lies.

No story he could rewrite.

“Put the gun down,” Rebecca said.

“You still belong to me.”

“No.”

The single word made him tremble.

Richard slowly moved one hand toward the weapon.

Trevor tightened his grip.

Emma began crying again.

Rebecca spoke softly.

“She is watching you.”

Trevor glanced toward his daughter.

That hesitation was enough.

Richard struck his wrist.

The gun fell into the mud.

Police tackled Trevor.

He screamed Rebecca’s name while officers handcuffed him.

She turned away.

Olivia was carried from the cabin by paramedics.

Before entering the ambulance, she grabbed Rebecca’s hand.

“The embryos were not for me.”

Rebecca froze.

“Then who?”

May you like

Olivia looked toward Trevor.

“He already has another wife.”
