Chapter 19 - The Secret Adoption File

Evelyn requested a private meeting through prosecutors.
She offered information in exchange for leniency.
Isabella agreed to hear it with Helen present.
Evelyn placed an old adoption file on the table.
“Noah is not the first Fairmont heir Margaret hid.”
Margaret’s face tightened when Isabella showed her the file.
Inside was a birth certificate for a baby girl born two years before Isabella.
Mother: Margaret Fairmont.
Father: Thomas Vale.
The child had been placed for adoption.
Isabella stared at her mother.
“I have a sister?”
Margaret began shaking.
Thomas had forced her to surrender the baby by threatening to expose financial crimes he committed in her name.
Margaret was twenty-five and isolated.
She believed the child would be safer with another family.
“I searched for her for years.”
“Did you find her?”
“Yes.”
Isabella waited.
Margaret’s eyes filled.
“Her adoptive name is Sienna Blake.”
Isabella knew that name.
Sienna was Jason’s corporate communications director.
She had attended the christening.
She had watched Margaret fall.
And she had left before the attorneys revealed the trust.
Evelyn smiled when Isabella understood.
“Jason found her before Margaret did.”
The room turned cold.
Sienna had worked beside Jason for seven years.
