Chapter 5 - The First Warning

Two months before the christening, Isabella found a legal document inside Jason’s desk.

It was titled Petition for Protective Conservatorship.

The petition described Isabella as emotionally unstable after childbirth.

Jason claimed she suffered from paranoia, confusion, and dangerous behavior.

Evelyn had signed as a witness.

A private doctor had prepared a supporting evaluation.

Isabella had never met him.

The petition requested that Jason control her finances and make medical decisions for her.

She photographed every page.

That night, Jason entered the nursery and found her holding Noah.

“You look tired,” he said.

“I am.”

“You’ve been acting strangely.”

Isabella kept her expression calm.

“What does strangely mean?”

“You forget things.”

“I haven’t forgotten anything.”

Jason smiled.

“That’s what worries me.”

She understood then.

He was creating a story.

Every disagreement would become instability.

Every tear would become illness.

Every protective instinct would become danger.

Isabella called Margaret the next morning.

Her mother answered cautiously.

“I need to ask you something.”

“What?”

“Did Jason know about the Fairmont trust before he met me?”

Margaret remained silent for too long.

“Mom.”

“Yes,” she whispered. “I believe he did.”

The betrayal nearly crushed Isabella.

But Margaret said one more thing.

“The trust has a protection clause. If he attempts fraud against you, he loses every benefit permanently.”

👉 Isabella stopped preparing to save her marriage and began collecting the evidence that could destroy Jason’s claim forever.
