Gavin’s attorney argued that my evidence came from criminals, adulterers, and frightened employees.
Then Gavin testified that I had suffered a breakdown after the twins were born.
He claimed I imagined my ownership role and became obsessed with punishing him.
For one terrible moment, I felt the old humiliation return. He had used my postpartum anxiety before, twisting a period of exhaustion into permanent instability.
Judge Beckett asked whether he had medical proof.
Gavin produced a letter bearing my former therapist’s signature.
The therapist took the stand and stared at it.
“I did not write this.”
She explained that I had experienced treatable anxiety, recovered fully, and had never shown delusions.
The letterhead came from a file requested by Gavin’s assistant months earlier.
