At the annual meeting, I stood before employees, clients, and families.
Behind me hung a new sign: Bellamy Health Systems.
I restored Walter as director of corporate history and promoted Amy to chief financial officer. We created an employee ownership plan and an independent ethics board with real authority.
No founder would ever again be able to rewrite records alone.
I also established the Edward Bellamy Scholarship, named for my father, for single parents returning to careers after raising children.
Sloane wrote from prison asking whether she could contribute money after her release. I told her restitution came first, but genuine change would be measured by what she did when no audience watched.
When the new founder plaque was uncovered, my name appeared first—not as revenge, but as fact.
